The PGFF secretariat is proposing to convene on Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25, just before the World Health Summit Regional Meeting which will take place on Monday through Wednesday, April 27-29.
A very preliminary agenda is as follows:
Friday 24th, April
- Friday morning: Presentations by funders on current activities. We plan to get into more details and discussions than we’ve been able to in the past.
- Friday afternoon: Site visit. The secretariat is working out details of this, but tentatively this will be an opportunity to observe first-hand the use of genomics in the field. As part of the field visit, we propose to assemble a group of people working in pathogen genomics in Africa to discuss the challenges and opportunities they see and to have a dialogue with funders about addressing those.
Saturday 25th, April
- Saturday morning: Discussions around specific topics, including an update from the supply-chain group at SFA Foundation, the use of AI in the context of pathogen genomics, and implications of the shifting global health funding landscape.
- Saturday afternoon: Funders-only session, close up around 3:00.
- Sunday: Optional outing (probably to the national park outside Nairobi)
